Every tower in the City of Tallahassee must have a wrecker permit. The permit is issued after a driving and criminal background check.  Towers, owners of towing companies and other people within a towing company who have access to towed vehicles should have a wrecker permit. Along with the permit holders picture, there is a tracking number for that person and name of the company they are towing for. The permit is issued by Officer Joe Gandy, Tallahassee Police Department Wrecker Administrator

Information about a towing company or tower that is sent to the Tallahassee Police Department should be addressed  Officer Joe Gandy, Wrecker Administrator. Officer Gandy is a retired Police Officer from TPD who spent many years dealing with the towing industry. Our community is very lucky he came out of retirement and taken the never ending job as Wrecker Administrator. Below are a few things you need to back up an unlawful tow-a-way. Officer Gandy is on the side of Rules & Regulations, the legal side. If you can provide proof of wrongfully having your vehicle towed, he's the Officer you need to give it to. Below are a few tips that can be helpful when dealing with roam towing.

A LETTER FROM CHIEF OF POLICE DENNIS JONES ON ROAM TOWING- click

 * GOOD HABITS & TIPS FOR PARKING & DEALING WITH A TOW-A-WAY DRIVER* Always park legally, use your camera phone to click a picture of how you parked. *This can help get your money back if the reason for towing is because you parked on a white line. (It takes less than a minute for a tow-a-way truck to move a legally parked vehicle) +Take a picture while a tow truck is backing up to your vehicle, even if your vehicle in the air if it's not attached with strap to the wheel lift there is no charge. Get a friends help, get them to take a picture of you the vehicle owner talking to a tow truck driver, try to get the best pictures you can of you asking them to give your vehicle back. Act quick, take a picture right away. They are going to do their best to get a strap on the tire before you get to them or get a picture.

Danny B's will be glad to  demonstrate each stage of a tow-a-way. Any group who would like to set this up can  call  850-562-2407, Speak with Lisa or Danny

If you don't have Danny B's phone number they don't have your vehicle.Reading this web-site will hopefully help you find out who towed your vehicle and how to get it back.
