The Latest Buzz Reporting The Lastest Towing News, As It Comes In. The topics for the beginning of October will be:Insurance Roadside Service v's Motor Clubs and The correct way vehicles need to be towed. This is mainly for the tows being done without the owners request.

Due to a student who was buying a car and felt pushed to buy a roadside service plan, I have been asked to explain when to use your auto insurance v's when to use a motor club. **We are not under contract with any motor clubs or insurance companies** Even so, we do get several calls from both, and we do assist motorist who are in need of our services.**  I will do my best to put it in 'layman terms' If you still have questions, please call Lisa @ 850-562-9185

An Insurance Company "Roadside Service or Tows" : When ever anyone buys auto insurance they are offered a roadside service plan. (Around $14.00 yearly). Since Florida law and auto finance companies require you to have Auto Insurance, this is the best way to go: You don't have to pay for a motor club & are covered by the insurance company for the same services as a motor club, maybe more. Unlocks, flat tires, towing for repairs, jump starting a dead battery, taking you gas. Roadside service for an insurance company can work one of two ways. You pay for the service at the time and then turn the bill in your agent (we often fax them the invoice) they write you a check for the tow bill right away. (faster service), plus you can call any towing company., 2nd- You have the insurance company dispatch a wrecker for you and they pay the tower directly. Crash Auto Towing - Law enforcement will ask if you have a towing / wrecker company you would like for them to call to tow your vehicle. If you have already called, please let the Officer know as soon as he arrives. Many will not allow a motor club, if they are going to take over 30 minutes. Another downfall for a the motor clubs: most require the card holder to be with the vehicle, your health is the most important thing, will the motor club cover the call if you left with EMT? You don't need the extra worry of 'where is my vehicle being towed to, is there lot safe, are they honest people, do they have a wrecker permit issued by the police department, are items inside of my car going safe. Will it be towed the correct way. If your in a crash your thoughts need to be on YOU & your passengers. A big plus is you do not have to pay any out of pocket cost. The insurance company will cover all cost, right down to using crash wrap on a broken window. (A service we provide) Always remember, even if you are at fault in a wreck, you only have ONE deductable, everything else will be payed by the insurance company to the repair shop.

MOTOR CLUBS / ROADSIDE SERVICES: Best to have when do not have full coverage auto insurance. Be sure to read all the fine print. See if there is a maximum mileage they will cover. How often can you use the service, will it cover a crash vehicle tow bill, if you must wait so many days between services. Make sure the plan fits your needs. There is only one motor club that I personally know of that goes hand in hand with your homeowners insurance that will pay the deductable for your vehicles repairs. I'll post them after I make sure they are not an insurance company with added auto service.

We are slowly getting to meet some of the students who are new to the Tallahassee area. Be sure to let us know if your a student if you need our services. Our students are given a discount!  Also we have been informed a few people have been using their motor club when they need roadside service (or a jump start) The way the system works will be this weeks topic. Next week we will cover the correct towing procedures for FWD, RWD & AWD vehicles. We have a format we use for asking questions when motorist call us. Several times I have been asked 'why' and ;what if'. So I will do my best to gather and post this information in the next two weeks.

We are proud of all the students from FSU, TCC & FAMU who attended the Tallahassee City Commission meeting and spoke against the illegal towing going on within the city. Not only did they speak out, they were able to prove their point. While the rotation crash recovery wreckers did get a needed increase, to keep up with the cost of running an honest wrecker company TO HELP those in need. The tow-a-way rate stayed the same: it's $88.00 if you do get towed, $44.00 it the vehicle being towed is attached to the tow truck with a wheel lift strap, NO FEE CAN BE CHARGED IF THE PERSON WHO'S VEHICLE IS BEING TOWED GET TO THEIR VEHICLE BEFORE IT'S HOOKED UP!!

Enjoy your week! Keep it between the lines! Something to do if your new to the area, take a quick drive to the St. Marks Lighthouse, the butterflies are headed south for the winter and always stop at the St. Marks Wildlife Refuge for a rest. A really neat sight. Along with walking the trail, one one side you have the saltwater with the dolphins playing for attention and the other side of the walkway is a freshwater canal. Alligators do live there! I've been lucky enough to see both the dolphins & gators while standing in one spot! Now that's our TRUE FLORIDA WILDLIFE AT IT'S FINEST.

Stay safe out there, please remember our PREVENT A DUI PROGRAM. It's cheaper than getting your car towed. We at Danny B's devote our 'roam towing hours' to saving lives. [A little come on now to the guy who wanted us to tow him from one bar to another] Only if I took all your keys, your friends keys and you paid for a tow home before we took you to the next bar!!! Let us get you and your vehicle safely home together!!
